ABOUT ISTANBUL EXPORTERS’ ASSOCIATIONS (IEA-IIB) Exporters’ associations are professional organizations, operating in several regions of Türkiye since 1937. There are 61 exporters’ associations in Türkiye operating in 27 different sectors. They are organized under 14 secretariat generals. Istanbul Exporters’ Associations (IIB), which began to operate in 1940 with the foundation of Istanbul Cereals Pulses Oil Seeds Exporters’ Association, is one of the 14 general secretariats. There are seven associations under IIB’s roof, operating in seven different sectors on cereals, pulses, oils seeds and products; dried fruits and products; fishery and animal products; fresh fruits and vegetables; furniture, paper and forestry products, hazelnuts and products and ships and yachts. These 7 associations cover a wide range of products from chocolates to furniture, hazelnuts to yachts and packaging products to fishery products. IEA has more than 8.000 active members. To realize its aims and targets, IEA maintains several activities and practices such as; • Organizing national participation leading international fairs, • Trade development activities (outgoing and incoming trade delegations etc.) • Specific promotion and development activities, • Statistical data collection and data analysis, • Economic researches and reporting, • Vocational training activities, • Consulting services, • Coordination activities, • Periodicals and publishing, • Export supporting activities, • Other activities on export development.
